Gerry van Klinken is Inside Indonesia's new editor. On his
first visit to Indonesia in 1977, Gerry followed the hippy trail
with his partner Helene. He returned in the late '80s to teach
physics at Satya Wacana University for 7 years. Earlier this year
he completed a PhD in Indonesian history at Griffith University in
Brisbane, where he lives with his family. He succeeds Pat Walsh who
has been Inside Indonesia's editor since 1985 and will
continue as part-time production manager.
